JOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Business Analytics is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights to drive business performance, optimize decision-making, and support strategic initiatives. This role involves analysing key business metrics, identifying trends, and providing data-driven recommendations to improve financial outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall business growth. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data utilization, develop predictive models, and ensure accurate reporting for effective business planning.

Job scope includes:

• Oversee data analysis and business intelligence functions to provide actionable insights.
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with data-driven recommendations.
• Design and implement performance tracking metrics to monitor business effectiveness.
• Work closely with finance, operations, commercial, and IT teams to enhance data utilization.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used for decision-making.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Business & Financial Analytics
• Develop financial models to analyze revenue, cost structures, and profitability.
• Conduct variance analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting for business units.
• Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.
• Data Management & Reporting
• Design, automate, and maintain dashboards and reports for senior management.
• Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL) to extract and visualize data.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of business data across systems.
• Business Strategy & Decision Support
• Provide insights into market trends, customer behavior, and competitive analysis.
• Develop business cases for strategic initiatives, investments, and process improvements.
• Identify risks and opportunities through in-depth data analysis.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with finance, operations, sales, and IT teams to align analytics with business goals.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and actionable format.
• Guide and mentor team members on data analytics best practices.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, CIMA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in business analytics, financial analysis, or data-driven decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics platforms.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
• Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
